Each year the Lawrence Branch NAACP offers a scholarship to one African American senior student at each of Lawrence’s public high schools, Lawrence High School and Free State High School.

Support equal access in your community
The Lawrence Chapter of the NAACP offers a scholarship to one African American senior student at each of Lawrence’s public high schools, Lawrence High School and Free State High School. None of this is possible without direct support from businesses and members of the Lawrence community.
As we are a 501(c)(4) organization, contributions or gifts to this NAACP Unit are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. They are, however, deductible as ordinary business expenses.
Local Opportunities
The Lawrence Branch of the NAACP offers a $1,500 post-graduation scholarship to one African American student at each of Lawrence’s public high schools. Applicants must plan to attend any accredited vocational, technical or post-secondary institution.
The application opens on January and are due early February
To apply for the scholarship, check your high school’s website and find the application form. The form can be filled out online. You can obtain additional information by contacting your school’s student services department.
